Virender Sehwag 's 200 Controversial


INDORE: Flamboyant Indian batsman Virender Sehwag created history by becoming the highest scorer ever in a one-day innings and the second cricketer after teammate Sachin Tendulkar to score a double century in the fourth ODI against the West Indies. He scored 219 on 149 balls.
It is noted that both Indian Batsmen scored 200 in their homeland while all players like Saeed Anwar, Charles Coventry, Viven Richard and Brian Lara scored 150+ on away country. Pakistan's Golden opener Saeed Anwar who ruled with highest 194 runs in ODI for a very long period of time, he scored his best and world's highest ODI runs against India.Which India should remember before highlighting Tendulkar's and Sehwag's 200+ scores in media with pride.

But the fact is that Tendulkar and Sehwag is not first to score 200. They both are only male cricketers to score 200+ but former Australian women's captain, Belinda Clark who scored 200+ 14 years ago in Women's world cup 1997 in India. So we think that Tendulkar and Sehwag should consider Belinda Clark as their GURU.And they should be ashamed on scoring 200 on their home ground.

As famous proverb "In her own street, Cat belief herself as a Lion", if Pakistan's Shahid Afridi provided a chance in Karachi's "AZGHAR ALI SHAH STADIUM" & even against a strong team like Srilanka on a batting pitch, we can say that Afridi will definitely score 250+ on this pitch.
And we know that Afridi rocks always against big teams and big bowlers and on neutral or away venue.

    Well i'm sure if this was done by Paki player...i would have been wow..but again noe Tendulkr or Sehwag have to prove anything to anyone..thier records say all...Afridi is nothing but all ball talks and no game...he should be playing with the bat and not with his mouth

    sachin and sehwag both are the great players. they dont hv to prove anything to anybody. sehwag is the only batsman who scored 100,200,300 in test match n 100, 200 in o.d.i

    Not at all a rational article...
    why didn't saeed anwar or afridi hit 200+ in pakistan . sachin has scored 150+ two times in away venues. and sehwag has scored a 300+ and a 250+ in pakistan against pakistan and a 250+ in srilanka in tests .

    I am not degrading Sehwag or m not jelous frm his double century but fact is dat he scored 200 on many chances given by West Indian which is raising question about credibility of the match while I saw and remember the inning of Saeed who really performed well and I appreciate his innings because he scored his 194 against India and big thing about his innings was he scored in a pressure game and that was not too much high score match which shows that saeed was single player who played marvellous but today i think if Gayle was their he definitely can gave hard time to Indian bowlers

    hahaha cant even imagine comparing the shitty afridi who averages 23 and 36 in odis and tests respectively to the man who averages 37 and 52 in them. to sum up, even the odi average of shwag is better than the test avg of afridi.

    To compare a 11 time centurion to a 37 time centurion, who has scored 8000 runs in each format, to afridis 7900 in both formats,

    Whats with all the "let Sehwag face Pakistani bowlers" thingy?

    As far as I know Sehwag averages 91.50 against Pakistan in Pakistan in Tests (91.14 overall). In ODIs he averages 48.66 (S/R 128.35) against Pakistan in Pakistan and 35.72 (S/R 104.64) overall.

    Sehwag got a Test 300 against, Akhtar, Saqlain and Co. He got another 300 in a day against Steyn and Co. The thing to understand about Sehwag is he is a proper batsman (just extremely good) and not a hitter/striker etc. His technique is like those of the great West Indies batsmen of Viv's team. Greenidge, Haynes and Co weren't very different from Sehwag in technique. My only prayer at this advanced age is I live to see Sehwag's Test 400

    Well, You wrote quite a good article, but the matter of fact is you have to give it to Sehwag, scoring 200 isn't a small thing, I'm a Pakistani, but from the cricketing prospective I respect Tendulkar and Sehwag.
    Sehwag inning surely was one of the greatest, and would be remembered for a long time.

    The reason is that wE are not playing cricket in our home ground for about 2-3 years and INDIA you are playing ur major or large no. of matches in your homeland INDIA.....if sehwag hit 200 its good but playing in ur home condition for about 3 years regularly will give you 5-6 double hundred in ur country..I AM SURE NEHRA WILL DEFINITELY SCORE 150 ON 9TH PLACE .......!!

    Nicely framed article. But the author has forgotten the basic ethics of media self regulation. Any article should be of neutral and should leave the judgment to readers'.
    If Pakistan players are not playing or practicing in Pakistan that is their problem. If they play in Pakistan they would do better then any other player on earth would only be a perception of hypothesis. It can not be fact unless they do play.
    The fact is Sachin and Sehwang have done and proved.
    Now it is Paki players that need to play to the expectations of their country people. (Excuse me if they get to match fixing and loose or get a duck back home)
