2nd ODI: Pakistan beats West Indies by 7 wickets

Pakistan scored 223 runs for 3 wickets in 48 overs in response to West Indies’ 221 on Monday.

Pakistan defeated West Indies by seven wickets with 12 balls remaining in the second ODI at Beausejour Stadium to lead 2-0 in the five-match series.

Ahmed Shehzad’s measured ton (102) helped stabilize Pakistan’s shaky batting attack while Misbah-ul-Haq also scored an unbeaten 43. Mohammad Hafeez was the third top scorer with 32 runs. From the West Indian side, Devendra Bishoo took two wickets for 36 runs.

Earlier, Pakistan won the toss and chose to field. West Indies scored 220 runs in 50 overs with Lendl Simmons scoring 51, Marlon Samuels 29 and Kemar Roach 24. From the Pakistani side, Saeed Ajmal took 2 wickets for 23 runs, Mohammad Hafeez 2-38, Wahab Riaz 2-39 and the skipper Shahid Afridi 2-41 41, while the series debutant Hammad Azam took one wicket for 26 runs.
